Enid Hayden

My name is Enid Hayden. I am married to Juilan Hayden and we live on a ranch outside of the city of Bentrock, Montana. We have two kids together. Both are boys and thier names are Wesley and Frank. Frank is a doctor and Wesley took over my husbands job as sheriff. I am a thin woman. I do not like shock of any kind and my family believes that I will die one day from it. I fidget, bite my nails, and worry to much. I also like to have everything in a perfect shape and everything has a place. In my opinion the kids should not put up such a fuss about the mascot.

I agree with you. I dont know why it is a big deal about thwe mascot. Why do you think the mascot should stay?

I agree with you in a way. It is too bad that everyone is making such a big deal about the whole mascot thing. Although, being a Native American, I can also understand why some people are upset. It's offensive to an extent.

You make yourself sound like a selfish lady. Please put yoruself in an Native Americans shoes and tell me how you feel. Do you honestly think that this name and mascot is ok to have?

Dear Edin Hayden,

I think that you should stop listening to your husband and that you should form your own opinion on this subject. You need to stand up to up to your husband and control how he reacts to certain situations. I believe that your husband is a pompous man, and that you should not be so ignorant about this issue. The native americans are a group of people who deserve respect. They should have the same rights as whites. UND should change their name and the native americans should get respect.

Thanks,
Doris Strickland

Hey I'm the fifth jury member. What's your view on the mascot? Do you think UND should be able to keep it or should have to make a new one. Thanks!

You are a good looking lady.
ANYWAYS...
I meant that I don't really have a big opinion on the issue however if I had to choose a side then I would want the mascot to be changed. I love you girlfriend.

Your kids are grown, you can't keep telling them what to do. And you should get your own opinion and grow some balls

Your husbands views on this issue are relevant. Your husband stands for power in Bentrock. If he is against Native Americans it shows that others do not need to care about them either. The Native American people are being demeaned by the mascot. They are being used as a scapegoat. This is wrong, and you should change your opinion. -Doris Strickland

Dear Enid

Thanks for getting back to me on you view of the issue. However, when you say that you are in support of the mascot, I have to disagree with you. My tribe is the Standing Rock Siuox and we have historically lived in North Dakota, somewhat near the University. Our stance on the mascot is that we don’t support it. Since I was born and raised on our reservation, this is my view too. We believe that this mascot is degrading and misinforming towards the Native American race and that there are many other mascots available to use.

Grandma, I think it is a big deal to some people, because the name is about their tribe. Also there are some people who make it to be a big deal, when the name isn't offensive to them personally and they think that it is offensive to others with out knowing. People shouldn't take the name as offensive, but as recognition for the strength and courage that their tribe has had to survive the new settlers coming in and trying to take over their land, many decades ago.

Enid,

I don't care what you think about my opinion. I have made one mistake in my life and that was to marry you. My opinion is to keep the name of the fighting Soiux because it's stupid to take it off. The Indians shouldnt care that they are being represented with pride and honor.

love you, Julian

P.S. Dinner last night was definatly below par in my book!
